Home and Community Education

Door County Association for Home & Community Education is a nonprofit educational organization comprised of member clubs throughout the County.  Clubs meet on a monthly basis to learn from the educational programs, work on service projects and enhance an individual’s social life. .

Membership
Membership is open through contacting a neighboring club or individual membership.   Contact the Door County Extension Office for more information at 920-746-2260.

Education
Within the guidelines of UW-Madison Division of Extension, members are provided with educational programs to enhance the quality of life in their homes and community.  Door County Association for Home & Community Education is a nonprofit educational organization comprised of member clubs throughout the County.  Clubs meet on a monthly basis to learn from the educational programs, work on service projects and enhance an individual’s social life. 

Service
.Brat fries are conducted at a local business to raise funds for community projects; volunteers read at day care and elementary schools through the Wisconsin Bookworms Program and provide the students with books and book bags; community vegetable gardens are managed, sewing projects to support the elderly in nursing homes and hospital and underprivileged women in sister countries; partner with County Fair to monitor 4-H and Women’s building; food pantries are stocked, semi-annual day of mending.
