The Brown County Association for Home and Community Education (BCHCE) is part of the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education which is a nonprofit educational organization comprised of member associations in 48 counties in Wisconsin.
The organization is unique in that the members extend the information they receive from University faculty and other reliable sources to the membership and community. BCHCE offers many opportunities for lifelong learners to continue to grow and learn. Educational programs are offered in the following areas:
Family Well Being Food & Nutrition Cultural Arts International Study | Environment Health & Safety Family Financial Management |
In addition to participating in educational programs, members are involved in a number of community service projects benefiting local human service organizations as well as international efforts.
Members offer support to each other through monthly club meetings and social events. BCHCE is comprised of approximately 91 members with individuals belonging to 10 clubs scattered throughout the county with an additional 1 registered as individual member(s).

Making A Difference
Wisconsin Bookworms Wisconsin Bookworms is a WAHCE educational program with educational support from UW Madison-Division of Extension. It is designed to provide free books and an early reading experience for children from limited income families. |
Each month volunteers read award winning books to the children, engage them in a related activity, give books to the children and provide educational activity sheets for their families.
Currently BCHCE members are reading to youngsters attending Head Start Programs in
